The Nike of Samothrace, discovered in 1863 and sent to Paris in the same year, is estimated to have been created around 190 BC. It was realized to not only honour the goddess Nike, but also to honour a sea battle. It conveys a sense of action and triumph as well as portraying artful flowing drapery through its features, which the Greek considered ideal.
ANNA AGTMA. reconstructed the winged victory by assembling the body with a damaged and incomplete pocket watch as an allusion to the interplay between statue and time space, resulting in the awareness of the moment.
